Welcome to St George's...

Everyone is welcome to join in all of the activities at St George's and particularly every Sunday at 11am for the Parish Communion, a modern-language service of Holy Communion.

There is plenty of participation and a variety of preachers, and at St George's everyone who wishes is welcome to receive communion.

Refreshments are served after the service.

The building is accessible for wheelchairs and there is a toilet for people with disabilities.

There is a sound system with an induction loop.

Evening services

As well as the morning services on Sunday, there are also evening services. The rota for May - July is viewable here.

Children's Church

Meets at 11am during term time. There are three age groups. There is a creche area (unsupervised) for the use of smaller children and their carers.

On the first Sunday of the month children join adults throughout the service, and the Children's Church help lead the service.

Music

On some Sunday mornings and at other times an orchestral group and/or a recorder band accompany the singing and play incidental music. Rehearsals take place before and after the 11am service. Players of all ages take part and there is a beginners' recorder group.

Rock Solid

A group of young people in year 8 and above meets in the Church at 7.30pm on the first and third Sundays of each month during term time.

Baptisms

Anyone who lives in the parish is welcome to be baptised at St George's. Baptisms normally take place during the normal first Sunday in the month service or at major festivals. Thanksgiving for the birth of a child can be offered on a convenient Sunday before baptism Sunday.

Any child who lives in the parish, or whose family worships at St George's, or who has other good reason, will be baptised in the parish.

Marriages

Anyone who lives in the parish is welcome to be married at St George's. The clergy of the parish are willing to marry people who have been divorced.

Funerals

The clergy are always willing to conduct funeral services for people who have lived in the parish.

Wednesday Lunches

At 12.30 p m every week - a bread and soup lunch.

Craft Club

Meets every Tuesday evening.
